Paybox360
An operations platform for African SMBs: HR, payroll, inventory, and spend in one place.
product · hr · inventory
Overview
Paybox360 is an operations product for businesses that outgrew spreadsheets but do not want a pile of point tools. It combines HR and payroll, sales and inventory, and spend management so the same team can see people, stock, and money without leaving the product.
The problem
Small and mid-size teams run payroll, stock, sales, and expenses in disconnected spreadsheets and tools. Errors show up late: a stock-out, a wrong payday, a budget that only exists in a chat.
Approach
Paybox360 puts HR, inventory, and spend on one product so operators can track people, stock, and money without stitching three systems together. The work was to make those modules feel like one operations loop, not a suite of unrelated dashboards.
Results
The live product covers payroll and employee records, real-time stock and sales tracking, and spend and budget control, aimed at merchants who need the day-to-day operational picture in one place.
What I learned
All-in-one products fail when every module looks equally important. Operators arrive with one urgent job: pay people, restock, or stop a leak. The first screen has to name that job.
What I would do differently
I would keep the handoff between stock, spend, and payroll as the product, not the individual modules, and I would be stricter about which reports operators actually open versus which exist because a competitor has them.
